Screener Copilot · Chrome extension

Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 June 2026

Screener Copilot is an independent, open technology demo. It is not affiliated with, authorized, or endorsed by Finviz. This policy describes exactly what the Chrome extension does with data.

The short version

The extension collects no personal information, has no analytics or trackers, sets no advertising cookies, and sells nothing. The only data that ever leaves your browser is the text you type into the chat and a short summary of the screener results currently on screen – and only when you choose a hosted model.

What is processed, and where it goes

  • Your chat messages – the plain-English requests you type (e.g. “profitable small caps under $10”). These are sent to whichever model you have selected so it can produce a screen.
  • On-screen results context – when a screen is applied, the extension reads the tickers and match count shown on the open finviz.com/screener tab and passes that list to the model so it can discuss the matches. No other page content is read or stored.
  • Your settings – the chosen model and (optionally) a hosted endpoint URL are stored locally in Chrome’s storage.local on your own device. They are never transmitted to us.

Model providers

  • On-device (Gemini Nano) – the default. Inference runs entirely inside Chrome on your machine. With this option, nothing is sent to any server – not even to us.
  • Hosted (Cloudflare Worker). If you select a hosted model, your chat text and the on-screen results summary are sent over HTTPS to a Cloudflare Worker proxy (screener-proxy.josefrichter.design by default, or a custom endpoint you set). The proxy forwards the request to the chosen model – Llama on Cloudflare Workers AI, or Anthropic’s Claude Haiku – and returns the answer. Requests are processed transiently to generate a response and are not logged to a database, profiled, or used for training by this extension. The model providers process the request under their own terms (see Cloudflare and Anthropic). No API keys are stored in the browser.

What is not collected

No names, emails, accounts, passwords, financial accounts, browsing history, or personally identifying information. The extension does not track you across sites: its content script runs only on finviz.com/screener pages, and only to read the visible results table.

Data sharing & retention

Nothing is sold or shared for advertising. There is no analytics pipeline and no user database. Hosted-model requests exist only for as long as it takes to return a reply.
